In this guide I am going to look at just a few of the pontoon grill mounts that are currently on the market. I assume you already have a grill and are simply looking for a mount, so you can attach yours to the rails easily and start cooking up some great meals.

If you don’t already have a grill, then take a look at my pontoon boat grill reviews, with the top two selections already coming with grill mounts, meaning you won’t need to buy the two items separately.

Pontoon Grill Mount Options

There aren’t that many pontoon boat BBQ grill mount products on the market which are actually that good. Many of them will struggle to fit with the smaller grills, can end up scratching your rails, and don’t offer a sturdy enough grip.

But there are some very good products available to buy, and I’ve listed the top models below, with reasons why you should you look into buying them.

1. Arnall’s Pontoon Grill Bracket Set (Square Rails)

This is probably the best-known name in the pontoon grill mount market, and it’s easy to see why.

The Amazon reviews for Arnall’s bracket are outstanding.

As with most mounts, you will probably have to drill a couple of holes into the bottom of your grill to get it mounted correctly, but once you do it’s plain sailing from there on.

On my own pontoon boat, I have a modified Cuisinart grill which use the Arnall’s bracket set. The brackets have never scratched my rails, and I’ve never had any give or looseness on the grill.

It sits tight on the rail, and the mounted grill has never tipped back onto my boat deck.

  • Price Bracket: Low (view Amazon prices)
  • Mounts:25-inch square pontoon boat railings
  • Compatible With: Most flat-bottomed grills
  • Weight Capacity: At least 20 pounds

There is one very important point to consider. This mount will not work with the best-selling standard Cuisinart grill package, unless you have the modified version. That’s an entirely different product all together, which you can find more about with my pontoon modified Cuisinart review.

Other than though, it will work as a grill mount bracket set for your pontoon boat rail with most of the grills you can buy online. To check compatibility with yours, check the Amazon listing and take a look at the questions other pontooners have already asked.

It’s only good for square rails, so if you have round rails, I would recommend the Kuuma bracket shown below.

2. Kuuma Quick Release Mount Rail Grill Mount (Round & Square Rails)

The Kuuma Stow and Go 160 is my second best-rated grill (read all my grill reviews here). If there’s one thing that lets it down though, and that the fact you have to buy the rail mount separately.

And that’s exactly what this Kuuma grill mount rail adapter is, but it also works with other grills, not just the Kuuma models including the popular Magma and Olympian grills.

You can take a look at the Amazon reviews which also include customer comments regarding grill compatibility.

With this pontoon boat grill mount it doesn’t matter if you have round or square rails, this will still work, and is secured using a strong aluminum and stainless-steel bracket.

  • Price Bracket: Mid (view Amazon prices)
  • Mounts:75 inch to 1.25-inch pontoon boat railings (round or square)
  • Compatible With: Most flat-bottomed grills including Kuuma, Olympian, and Magma
  • Weight Capacity: At least 20 pounds

Despite the look of the mount, you should only need to buy one as that should be strong enough to hold most pontoon grills in place.

Of all the pontoon grill mounts this is the easiest to use. That’s all due to the quick release system. There’s a knob on it which pulls out easily and then twists to lock in the “release” position, making grill removal simple. Honestly it takes just seconds to take on and off.

3. Magma Products Dual Square Rail Mount

My last quick review is of the Magma pontoon boat grill mount. I am not going to go into massive amounts of detail on this one, or even link you up to buying the product, simply because I don’t believe it’s a great recommendation.

This is one to avoid, and whilst I’ve never seen it or used it, all I can do is go off the online reviews that I have recently read about it.

Typical comments about the Magma highlight a few negative points such as it not coming with fasteners or bolts. How anybody could sell a pontoon boat BBQ grill mount and fail to include the right equipment to actually secure it to the rails is beyond me.

But that’s exactly what seems to be happening here, with two buyers mentioning the same problem with zero response from the manufacturer.

If you do have a Magma grill, you might be better off looking at the Kuuma rail mount which I recommend as my second choice. It should be compatible.

My favorite of the lot is the Cuisinart that already comes modified to include an Arnall’s grill mount. You can read my individual review of this package here.

It also makes sense to make sure that you have all of the essential accessories to make your grilling a success. Accessories include items such as meat thermometers, smoker boxes, and other gadgets designed to make your life easier.
