Buying a new boat is the start of a new adventure, but before you set off it needs a name that says something about you. And if you’re an electrician or work with electricity, the name could really spark!

I’ve been compiling boat names for years now (you can see them all here), but today wanted to provide you a list of boat names for electricians to use. All these ideas I’ve come up with myself or found by researching online.

Keep scrolling to see all the boat names about electricity I managed to find, and then put into one handy place for you to get some ideas from. Some are clever, some funny, some a bit rude, but they all have one thing in common; electricity.

If you haven’t found an electrician’s boat name idea that you like in the list above, I’d recommend checking out my other lists. I’ve put together thousands of funny, creative, rude, and clever boat names for a wide range of interests.

Here are a few of the best!

How to decide on an electrician’s boat name

If you still haven’t found a good boat name for an electrician from any of the clever and funny ideas I listed above, then here are some pointers on how to come up with your own.

1. Check it’s not too popular

Whilst there’s no law that you can’t have the same boat name as someone else, do you really want to use something that’s really popular amongst other electricians?

It’s simple enough to check. Just run your boat name about electricity through the national boat name database.

2. Say it out loud and imagine it being used

There are some boat names that simply don’t work when said out loud. You need to consider this, particularly if you need to make a distress call at any time.

For this very reason, boat names such as “mayday” are banned (here’s the full list of banned boat names).

3. Make sure it is future-proofed

We’ve all seen those funny boat names about the ex-wife, but do you really want something like that to remind any new lady in your life about your past?

Think about the future!

The last word…

Choosing a boat name as an electrician doesn’t mean it has to relate to electricity. But, so many boat owners do use their career as a starting point to come up with ideas.

Alternatively, it could be a name about something you love. Perhaps you love your dog, perhaps you’re a father
